When I click on an icon on anything on my laptop it opens the search all but the explorer. When I go online I type the www address in the address bar and give me an error message. My home page is google, so when I cant go to where i need to go i type in google and takes me to the search results. if i try to click on a link it gives me the same error message. But if I go type in facebook.com it takes me to facebook but I can not go anywhere from there. I have ran a virus scan and nothing has popped up. Please help.

(i dont know what the error msg says bc my laptop is home and I am at work will have to get back to you on it)

Thanks

Boot from your Windows CD and do repair-install of the OS.

Did that and still does it

I don't know what AV you are using, but a clean scan is no guarantee of no infection. Especially what appears to be a rootkit that hijacked the browser.

Just a suggestion to run something like rootkitrevealer, and also
malwarebytes antimalware possibly Kapersky.
