SAT AHCI Drivers installing before XP setup

hi guys

if i dont have a flopy drive for installing AHCI drivers, can i do that with USB drive/key or with the secondery CD-ROM?

(1st CD-ROM is used for windows xp disk at the time)

No, your only choice is the slip stream the drivers into your XP CD.

One other option: If you only boot XP go into the BIOS and change the hard drive from AHCI to ATA/IDE mode.

i guess , i wont use this AHCI Features till i setup win 7 since you dont have to install drivers in win 7 its buillt in...

what you meant by "only boot xp", do you mean a image of windows xp that can be booted from USB or CD?

I mean if this PC will only boot XP from the hard drive. XP cannot use advanced AHCI features, so it does not matter if you tell the drive to emulate an ATA/IDE drive.

HOWEVER, if you will be adding Windows 7 later to dual boot then take the time to set up XP with the AHCI driver.
