Choosing graphic card

hi evry1, im having a problem in choosing upgrades for my pc.... i want to improve it for gaming but i cant help to decide wether to choose nvidia(love physX) or ati(love oc)? is it worthed for me to choose nvidia because of its physx over the performance superiority of the ati????? gtx280 or Hd5850??????
any comment from users of both graphic card is appreciated....

PhysX is a gimmick. If anything were ever worthy of being labeled as a gimmick it is PhysX. There may be a few games out there which use PhysX but the key word is how many GOOD games use PhysX (IMHO none).

The Radeon HD 5850 would give you DX11, full OpenCL support as well as full Direct Compute 11 support. It is definitely the better buy between the two. A GTX 280/285 is so 2008.

PhysX might be a gimick, but Eyefinity is not. Not to mention that he 5850 is a more powerful card. If the GTX280 is still anywhere near $300 you are much better off buying the 5850. Assuming you can find one that is.

athlon II X2 250 3.0ghz, 4gb ddr2 ram, 500gb wdigital, and i hav only 1 pciEx16 slot
