If it's a quality (Corsair, Cooler Master, etc) PSU you should be fine.

Hmm.. The brand is "Dell Flextronics"

Prebuilt PSU? I wouldn't trust it. Grab a Corsair 550W for 50$.

not too sure whether to change PSU for now cos it will void the 1 year warranty. Should i get other card instead? any card to recommend?

Dell PSUs are tough, reliable and underrated. They give plenty of power where it's needed-the +12v rail, and the website clearly shows the GTX260 as an option, a very similar card in terms of performance and power consumption to the HD4870.
You will be fine.
No worries.

hd 4870 1g toxic recommended power supply is 500 watts or greater on their web. Not too sure what it means? is for the card only or the whole system?

^Whole system.
Relax, you'll be fine.
