I am trying to use a wrt54g and wsb24 power booster. However, when I do that, throughput dropped to approx 802.11b speeds. I thought this would work since b and g are still 2.4Ghz.
The max speed of wireless B (which is the best you'll get from a G + B combination) is 11mbps -- in fact call it half that because it's a duplex system and then deduct some for wireless reception issues.
But my thought is that the wsb24 is just amplifying the radio frequency (2.4Ghz) which should be transparent to the speed of the wifi connection type B or G. Isn't the 802.11x protocol just 'riding' the RF ?
