Hey all, just wanted to ask to see what everyone's estimates are for ATI releasing the 5890. Think it will be in late Nov. to battle the GT300??? I'm looking to get a card in late Nov. I don't know if I should hold out for the 5890 or the 5870 2gb. I was also considering the 5870x2 but the first impressions of the power it requires alone left me daunted and wondering if my new 700W Coolermaster psu can handle it (let alone the heat that SOB would generate in a mid-case >< ).

So... What do you guys think??

Dude the HD5870 just came out, the HD5890 is a 2010 refresh, not Nov, the R800 ie 5870X2 is the thing that will battle the eventual nV competitor, not the HD5890.

They might come out with a 5890 but its not for sure. A 700w psu would have absolutely no problem running a 5870X2. 700w is enough to run alot of CF and Sli solutions out there let alone a single 5870X2.

What 700w Coolermaster psu? A lot of coolermaster psu's are rated higher than they really are. So likely the 700w coolermaster has the same amps as a higher quality 550w psu.

For example, the OCZ modstream pro 700w has 2 - 25a rails. My OCZ Fatality 550w also has 2 -25a rails.

AMD / ATI have the upper had here, and if they need is I am sure a 5890 will appear... All depends if Nvidia can deliver anything?
