Dual Networks

Hi all


I hope someone can shed some light on my lack of knowledge ... ... I have 2 computers connected 2 a router via onboard network controllers running at 100mbps < full duplex > ... ... Everything concerning the internet runs smooth as can be < considering our contry's internet is shameful > ... but when I try lan games or send files over the network it takes forever ... When I use a twisted cable and no router its speedy as hell ... ... is there a way i can use onboard network and network cards and have 2 networks ... 1 with a designated I.P. ... and if yes ... how do i choose which 1 2 use when sending files or gaming ...
