Hello,
I had a file of past and upcoming events on a notepad file. I thought I was opening it and it replaced with a blank file instead. Any way to get the previous version ? I bought a AVG Tuneup disc and it did not find it. I have barely used the computer since, except to load the AVG disc and one update of anti-virus. Technically, it is a replaced version problem, not deleted or i could look into the recycle bin !

That is the problem with using rudimentary document processors like notepad, wordpad. Although they keep temp versions, once you signout of the app, those are gone. If you have searched the file name with no success, then it is gone. My philoso[hy is "If it is worth saving, save it in 2 locations"
and I do the same with Backups.
