Crossfire, or single card?

I'm going to be building a new PC soon, and I've budgeted about £250 to £300 for the graphics card element.

I like the idea of Nvidia's new 3D system, but to be honest I don't see it catching on for at least another 2 or 3 years (Owing to needing a very high Hz monitor to work properly).

So I'm going for ATi. the question is do I go for two 4890's linked in crossfire, or a single 5800?

Or is there another option I may want to consider?

Whats the res you will be playing at and what does your build look like? kinda hard to say go for the high end stuff if your monitor is say only 1280x1024 and a comp that cant handle that.

Details are still being finalised as I havn't got the money yet, but it'll probably be built around this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-030-OE&groupid=43&catid=339&subcat=

My monitor is 19", but I have been tihnking of upgrading. I also have a 38" HD TV that I sometimes use.
