1) Dell S2409W - $200
2) Dell 2408WFP - $450

I am building a new system and I have to decide on the monitor. I am going to be using the computer for games like GTA4 and Crysis.

I like #1 because of the price, but it seems like everyone raves about #2. I have read the tech specs of each (TN vs VA) but what does it mean in terms of gaming? What is the difference and how much of a difference is it?

$250 for an F and a P? I don't know, it seems to be very hard to find full specs for these monitors, but I'll continue to try.

Alright, well here's the specs for the the S2409W and the specs for the 2408WFP. I don't think that there is really a $250 difference between these two, it just seems that the 2408FWP has more colour variety and a better contrast ratio. Personally I'd say it's not worth it, but if you like your pictures as perfect as possible, then maybe the 2408FWP is right for you. It's up to you know to read the specs/reviews (of which you can find some on cnet as well) and decide for yourself. Goodluck.

Just FYI, I have the 2408WFP and absolutely love it. Well worth the money imho. Get compliments all the time on on it :)

I have one as well. Worth the money. And I spent well over $500 on it.

This is more than you will ever want to know about flat panels:

The 2408WFP gives a superior picture because it is an IPS type panel. Also, they have some nice little bonus features like integrated USB hub, and full height, tilt, and swivel stand adjustments.

the difference is the Dell S2409W is a TN panel and the 2408WFP is an S-PVA which is a higher quality panel (looks better)

I know! Here's in english, but make sure you choose UK at the pop-up, because US will take you to Toms and I can't find the charts there.
