Building a computer from scratch. Everything works just fine, except for the monitor won't show anything. It's not the monitor, cause it works on another computer. If the monitor isn't plugged into the computer, it shows color test. But as soon as you plug it into the computer, it goes blank and to standby mode, showing nothing. Why is it doing this!? (cries in corner)

I'm not an expert in trouble shooting or anything but it could have something to do with your graphics card. If you have an integrated option try using that with the monitor just to see if it works. If not try a different GPU (if available) or try reseating the GPU. Like I said, not an expert, but from what I've read on these forums over the past week this seems like a good place to start. If the problem persists beyond this, might wanna wait for a techie to reply to you :P.
