Hi all, I was wondering if I could have a little help with overclcocking my cpu. It's an Athlon II X3 rana 3.2g stock. I am trying to overclock it by raising the FSB from 200mhz to 250mhz, which would give my cpu 4ghz. Where I am lost at is what do I set my memory to and North Bridge to while I raise the FSB?

Right now I have the FSB at 215mhz which gives me 3.44gz on the proc. My memory is reading 1.596 v and it is supposed to be 1.5v. What should I do and what voltages do I need to lower to get more overclocking.

Here are all my specs ATM:
rana 450 3.2 ghz
biostar n68s3+
g.skill 4 gb ddr3 1333 (9-9-9-24)
antec 430d earthwatts

Reference clock: 215mhz
multiplier: x16 (this is as high as it goes)
core DID: divided by 1
NB FID: 1400mhz ( it goes to 2000)
NB VID: 1.425
NB DID: divided by 1

cpu temp: 35c/95f (idle)
cpu voltage: 1.44
chipset voltage 1.20
HT voltage: 1.248
memory voltage: 1.596

I would like to get as much as possible out of this proc and the rest of my system. My BIOS has AMD overdrive config but I will be OC'ing by raising the reference clock. The problem is the memory is reading more than stock volts and what should I set the Vram as and stuff like that.

Hey Huizcomedy, I was just wondering if you had any updates on OC your cpu. I am in the process of building a new comp and im thinking about buying the x3 450 rana. Were you able to unlock the 4th core? What do you think you are able to oc this to with the stock cooler? Would you recommend the phenom x4 instead of this?

I guess all the gurus are away for the holidays, but I can get the proc up to 3.8 until I log into windows then it resets it back to 3.2. so I am thinking Windows in all it's greatness is deciding that my mobo cannot support such an overhaul. Any suggestions besides a new mobo? Or should I just give up? Thanks for any reply or help.

Oh and shouldn't I see an increase in NB frequence when I increase the reference clock? After the cpu freq. goes up from raiseing the fbs it still stays at 1600mhz.

diablo, I don't know if you still follow this thread but it's been a while since I've been on this site. Yes I have managed to OC the rana 450 to 3.52 and no I had no luck unlocking the 4th core.
