I7 920 vs. i7 860 [The millennium question]

Instead of asking the usual "what is best" let us say....

What would you use? What do you know about this comparison?

Which one is an ideal buy over other? What would you go with?

More about millennium question
  1. All depends on the budget and what you will use the PC for.....
  2. get i5 750 , good $30 cooler , hyper 212+ , oc it to 3.8 and that would be enough .
  3. The only way I'd go with the P55 platform is if I got an i5... if I were going to plunk down that kind of $$$ on an i7, I'd want the superior platform backing it up.

    +1

    920:
    full dual pci-e 16x
    Triple channel memory

    860:
    High turbo boost
    Higher stock speed than 920

It really does depend on what your doing. There fairly good in there own sectors.

If your doing CAD then you'll benefit from the 920 triple channel memory.

If your doing video editing/converting then you will benefit from the higher stock speed and turbo boost.
  5. Thank you.
