Are these two motherboards Crossfire compatible?
GIGABYTE GA-790XTA-UD4 AM3 AMD 790X SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H AM3 AMD 890GX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

What is the difference between the two?
I'm looking for a USB3.0 AM3 motherboard. Also looking to do some overclocking.

Thanks. Appreciate the help.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

What is your budget for the mobo?. What other components you want install in the mobo? CPU, RAM, GPU.

CPU: AMD X3 440 (overclocked)
RAM: 2x2Gb DDR3 1333
2 Crossfire 4850's

I'm hoping to keep the mobo cost sub-$130. Doable?

Ok, a good options is the mobo of the 1st link. BUT the RAM isn't good, so, you have this options:

1- ASUS M4A79XTD EVO don't support USB 3.0, but is a very good options if you think that USB 3.0 isn't very popular yet. $119.99 before $10 MIR and free shipping.
2- GIGABYTE GA-790XTA-UD4, solid option with SATA III, USB 3.0 and Crossfire. $139.99 before $15 MIR and free shipping

Okay, what do you think about this?
GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H AM3 AMD 890GX HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

I could be more economical by dropping the X3 440 for X3 435 w/ mobo combo deal?

Well, looks good. What is your total budget? You can try to get the 790XTA and the Athlon II X4 620.
