Sata dvd drive not detected in bios

Hello, just purchased a motherboard and when installing OS i found out that BIOS is not detecting my DVD ROM to where I placed my boot dvd. i've checked connections and properly set the sata drive as my primary boot device but still the dvd rom can not be read. please help.

Which SATA drive did you set as the first boot device?

Try different cables on the DVD drive.

Assuming your BIOS settings are correct you have either a bad MB, drive or cable. Replace the drive with a known good one and do the same with the cable (one at a time). If neither solve the problem you have a bad MB.
