Hi, I have a win64 system and a few games, I'm noticing that some video cards are really becoming cheaper and cheaper (4850, 4870). I was wondering if it was worth it to upgrade my current card and let go my 8800gt (512megs) to a friend.

I have a 24" so I normally play at 1920x1200 when possible

Games that I currently have:
- crysys
- drakensang (play at native res)
- unreal tournament 3 (play at native res full detail and getting an average of 100fps)
- and some older games..

It doesn't look like it's a necessity but I was still wondering if something was worth the switch?

Intel Q9550, 8g1066 ram, ocz650w psu, 8800gt 512,1920x1200

If you are only replacing your card on a whim (I'm in the same boat, kinda) there is no point in getting another DX10 card unless it's really really cheap or you have an SLi board and can get a pair of 275's really cheap. You would be better off just moving on to the DX11 era cards whether that be an ATi card now or an Nvidia card whenever they turn up.

I would say no unless you feel that the fps you are getting isn't enough or you want more eye candy.

I would also wait till the ati 5 series mid range is released and how they fair. They may be a good upgrade that will last a while.

I just went and tested Crysis @1400x900 max details but no AA. Was getting min 30,avg 35,max 41fps. I can play all my games with max details it's just that I have no AA for crysis. I don't know if we can get AA in ut3

For a realistic upgrade you will need to look at the HD4870 or GTX260, anything less will not really justify the outlay.
As the others have said, the new HD57xx cards are on their way, so along with them, I'd advise you to stay with the 8800, at least until these new mid-range cards are released and reviewed.
