how much is your budget.. and what monitor reso would you most probably play on?

go for the athlon II.. if you could add more bucks, go for the phenom II x3 720 be.. great cpu.. better than two cores..

your can upgrade your gpu later.. or soon.. it depends ^-^

well the Tri-core 8650 is only like 15 more so do i take the dual core 245 over that 8650

Some AM2/AM3 mobo ~ 60$.
Phenom II x3 720 ~120$
4GB Dual-Channel (2x2GB) Either DDR3 1333 or DDR2 1066 (D3-50$, D2-40$)
500GB HDD (Western Digital has good warranty, I think) - 55$
9800GT is fine, don't worry about it.

IDE is out of date...just use a SATA. Get Windows 7 if you can.

You should get DDR3 ram to go with an AM3 chip.
The price difference between 320gb and 500gb hard drives is usually very small so go for 500gb.

:o i hate win 7 hell i had the autographed copy windows 7 i got from being a pre party host and gave it away, i wanted to use xp thats why i was going to use ide

If you don't want Vista x64 or Win7, I suggest you to get the XP x64 version. The problem with the actual 32bits OS is that they can't recognize more than 3gb of RAM.
