Hey everyone,

I’ve recently built and new PC and bought the Corsair H100 to cool my i7-3930K CPU. I’ve used the fans included and replaced the thermal compound with ‘Artic Silver 5’ after removing the cooling block to check if I mounted it properly.

CPUID Hardware Monitor registers temperatures across all cores between 35 – 40C at idle, however the BIOS CPU temp is 33 - 34C.

Are these temperatures within the norm for a stock i7-3930K because I expected around 28 - 32C. I'm hoping to OC to 4.7GHz and maintain average temp below 75C under load, is there anything I could do to lower the average temperature? I'm not sure what CPUTIN is but the temp look especially worrying.

Also my graphic cards can go up to 80C under load, is this normal and is there anything I could do to lower it if I want to overclock?

Thanks very much.

AS5 has a 'burn in' period that takes a small while - your temps will drop ~5C typically over the 200 hours.

Ignore anything but the Core Temps - CPUTIN tends to lie

Idle temps can be offputting, its all about what the cooler can do when its pressured with offloading alot of heat.

GTX570s tend to run around 75 - 85C as far as I can see for reference design.
Direct CU II or MSI Twin Frozr III cards will run significantly lower.
