Hi guys,

Dunno i hav posted in right thread or not,

I hav a HDMI to DVI cable,

I hav connected my PS3 with 1 side HDMI port but my lcd monitor has a Dvi port but cannot connect with it kinda different pins ...

So is there any way that i can connect ps3 on Lcd monitor with connecting the dvi port in my graphics card's dvi port in CPU and any way to switch it to digital so i can have ps3 visuals on Monitor ... help

not really, you would need somesort of videocapture/TVtuner card with 'video in' feature. Basic craphics cards only have video outs.

what kind of plugs does the cord and monitor have?

hmm... DVI-I has both analog and digital signals, thats why it's usefull to have on graphics card as an output (to use vga cable with simple adapter). Monitor only wants digital signal in it's input DVI-D. HDMI is digital only, so I don't understand why the HDMI->DVI cable would need analog signal pins on the DVI end as well... (and male DVI-I doesnt fit into female DVI-D just like you discovered)

easiest way would be to get an HDMI->DVI-D cable... lol

edit if the cable was DVI->HDMI it would make sense to have DVI-I
edit2 or not???
edit3 not, because male DVI-D fits into female DVI-I... darn this is too confusing lol
