How can I verify that my old processor was used as a slave and is not in the hands of the last person that worked on my computer. The computer tech installed a new CPU, and when I asked him where the old one was, he said he used it as a "slave."
Is there a reasonably easy way to verify this??

This is a weird one but i'll try to put it in prospective for you.

There is no such thing as a "slave" CPU. There either is a CPU or there isn't.

I would start by downloading a tool called CPU-Z and it'll show you your processor specs, then you can post the pictures here on this thread.

http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php (select the top option labeled "CPU-Z 1.52 setup")

As for the term "slave" that is referred to IDE devices such as hard drives.CD drives/DVD drives. in the IDE format, one will be set to primary "master, primary "slave" secondary "master" secondary "slave". It is just the interface in which the motherboard recognizes the drives.

Hope this helps.
