Date of Purchase: As soon as possible. Hopefully within the next week or so.

Budget: $600 CAD - $800 CAD.

Usage: Multi-tasking, music, movies, web design, graphics design, and some casual gaming.

Preferred Retailer: None to be honest. For the purpose of this project I have referred to www.newegg.ca; however, I am open to other sources.

Brand Preference: Again, none really. I stuck with AMD as I am comfortable with it; however I'll take whatever provides the best results at the best price.

Overclocking: Option is there, but not a primary concern by any means.

Ultimately I am trying to piece together a system for regular usage. In addition I am looking to purchase an LCD or plasma television (around 30 inch - unless of course something bigger is available in my budget), and a home theatre system. Total budget is roughly $1,300 CAD.

If $100 CAD - $200 CAD could be reduced from this system without sacrificing too much functionality I would be all for it!

This leaves me about $500 CAD to pick up a decent sized television and surround sound system. I am open to maintaining the firepower here and reducing the price, or increasing the power of this machine at the same price - should anyone notice the opportunity with a change in parts. Thanks in advance for any help provided!

You could get just one video card instead of two.
Add in your keyboard and mouse.

To be perfectly honest, that was the inspiration of this project, and one of my fallback options should this current system be labelled a terrible idea. Would the thought of a single Radeon as in that budget PC work with a casual gamer? I'd be looking to play games such as CoD, UT3, etc. Not any of the high, high end games like Crysis, but still would require some video performance.

I am also open to all other suggestions. Hoping to hear more from the community. Thanks so far!
