I have an Asus P5Q SE Plus motherboard, and everything was okay for the first 2 months, after which I started to experience problems with getting the monitor to switch on; at boot-up and wake-up it now takes about 10 minutes for the monitor to come to life.
I had been using the monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 2043BW - 18 months old) on an older Pentium 4, 32-bit Win XP system with no problems. However, I assembled the present Windows 7, 64-bit system at the start of 2010 and experienced no problems for about 2 months, until the present problem appeared, where the monitor refuses to come to life for about 10 minutes after boot-up and wake-up. At boot I get one bleep, fans, lights, mouse and keyboard fire up, and I hear the Windows welcome sound - and then the waiting for the monitor
I've updated the BIOS and reset the CMOS by removing and replacing the battery, but that had no effect.
