Hi. I have been looking into buying an SSD for my desktop but am having trouble deciding on one. Am looking for one with storage around 120 GB so enough for windows and apps but will store data on another hard drive. Been looking into the OCZ Vertex 2 but it seems to be extremely unreliable. The crucial C300 or m4 look good to me. What would you recommend as a fast and reliable SSD for a budget of around £140?

Thanks

Please provide a link or two to online vendors in your country or from whom you might place an order so that we can see what is available.

The Crucial C300 is an older SATA III 6Gb/s ssd that is very popular, relatively trouble free, and sometimes on sale for a very good price. The Crucial M4 is supposed to be the new and improved version of the C300.

Here is a link to the ssd database:

If you go to the Crucial section you'll see links to technical reviews for the C300 and M4.

Here a few links:

The m4 is a bit more than i was hoping to spend but if the performance is a lot better then i might go for it.

I took a look at the ssd's available at dabs.com. Based on your price limit the 128GB Crucial C300 is probably your best value. The Crucial M4 costs 10 Pounds more. It's probably worth the extra price if you can afford it.
