Will an asus p7p55d board work with a 4 pin connection instead of 8?

Recently I found my power supply was doa but I am so eager to start my computer. My friend has a power supply that will work but it has a 4 pin connector instead of an 8 pin one. Will the board work with just the 4 pin connector plugged in?
