Will DDR2-800 memory work if used with AMD Athlon II X2 240 & ASRock N68C-S? I'm not sure if the memory should be at least DDR2/3-1066. Here's the link to the motherboard's specifications: click

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Yeah, the DDR2 800MHz can work without problems on your mobo and with your Athlon II X2 240

Um, I was not aware that AM3 socket processors work in AM2+ motherboards and will only run DDR3 memory. It seems a bit weird to me

^An AM3 processor can be installed in an AM2+ mobo, and not only can work with DDR3, also can work with DDR2 without problems.

The thing that you can't do is install an AM2+ processor in an AM3 mobo.
