Hi:
I have a Asus P6TD Deluxe-X58- Socket 1366/DDR3 + 6Gb DDR3 of RAM G SKILL RIPJAWS PC3 12800 DDR3 1600 + Intel core I7 930.
I made a raid 5 with 5 hard drives (they are not the same model but i have tested it and every hard drive writes with a speed about 50Mb/s).
I have installed all drivers of motherboard and raid, (raid finished of initialized) but when i try to write to it i can only write about 25 or 30Mb/s and its too slow, to write with that speed its better to have alone hard drives :S anyone knows if there is a problem with this motherboard and raid 5? what can i test or do to solve this problem and get better write speeds.

I'm running windows 7 64bits.

Thanks in advance.

Onboard software raid do not quite run raid 5 effectively especially with the slow drives that you have... Might have to get a good 3ware hardware raid card for a very decent raid 5 setup....

I know will not work as a hardware raid, but get at least the same speed as if drives where independent i think can be done with a software raid.
