Cant even format the drive from the PC(dunno why) so went to friend's house to format. took hdd home, tried to boot, no display on the monitor. Even after I changed back my mobo to the one up there no display would come out. Tested GPU on friend's PC, perfectly normal.

When you say no display can you be more specific, are you able to enter the bios at boot up?
are you able to start installing the operating system?. if so are you installing the raid drivers when asked to do so to be able continue in order to format the drive in the first place?.

No display at all as in, monitor show 'no signal cable' message, not even able to see bios.

Have you checked the monitor cable? always worth trying another.
check your graphics card power cable is connected/if required.
try using one stick of memory/ and swop them to test both (rub your hands on the metal case before removing).
check all cables/ reset cmos refer to motherboard manual.
Check you reinstalled the hard drive correctly (cable) and did not damage a pin.
