I want to order the Asus P5Q SE2 motherboard online to replace my ancient Gigabyte G31MX-S2. I could not find any reviews on it and this is my first time buying something from Asus. Previously I had Foxconn, Intel, MSI and Gigabyte motherboards... I would like to know what other people's opinions are on it and who have worked with this motherboard before.

(I have a Gigabyte Odin 585watt PSU)
I plan to install the following on it:
* Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66Ghz
* Corsair Dominator 2x2GB 1066Mhz Memory
* Club3D ATi Radeon 5770 512MB
* Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS HDD

I've the owned the P5Q SE PLUS for over a year 24/7 it's been on and have OC'd stable 4 different CPUs, dual cores and a quad core. Been very happy with it.

No issues whatsoever, even ran my E8400 to 2000 mhz FSB ( 8 x 500) 4 Ghz and got through all benchmarks and stress tests.

Ummmm, why?

If you're going to upgrade your motherboard you may as well at least go for one that offers you the opportunity to crossfire your 5770. That P45 board only has a single PCi-E graphics slot. I would think that the ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo is a better option.

Just saying

I have been use a P5Q SE Plus for about 6 months now it has yet to fail me. It is one of the most stable boards i ever used before this board i had a gigabyte board that gave me nothing but problems. I have had my E8200 OCD since day one on this board and it runs stable at 3.8 ghz thats a 1200mhz OC and it runs solid as a rock.
