Pcie creative xfi xtreme audio ringing noise

When i listen to music or play games in a few minutes a ringing noise starts coming from my speakers its like an echoey ring reminds of low quality .wma files from a long time ago. it is not my speakers as I get it in my headphones too. it all started the other day when i switched my gtx 260 to a radeon 5850. i have moved the card into different pcie slots but still get it. when i stop the audio file or game for a few mins and play it again it dissapears but comes back in a few minutes speaking of which just happened again. i have the latest drivers and have even defaulted back to the original settings but still the same problem. the only thing i can think of is the radeon 5850 but i dont get why that would have any effect on it?

I would suggest you first try updating the drivers of your sound hardware, before thinking it has something to do with your sound card.
