This is my first build...
Looking to build in one to two weeks, <$1300, usually keep my systems 3+ yrs

Usage: Photo/Video Editing (Adobe Elements/Premiere, Adobe Ligth Room, maybe Adobe CS4), regular home use and some gaming
Parts not required: keyboard, mouse, speakers
NewwEgg for parts

The memory is fine

it all works , and is a good choice for photo edtting

dont get hung up on 4870 brands . All the models with the reference cooler are the exact same thing with a different sticker on them .

Since you are indicating Photo Editing, it is recommended to get an IPS screen rather than a TN one. Though the question is if this would fit in your budget:

You got good choice of hardware over all, apart from the monitor I would defiantly go for a better make [ i.e Samsung/Asus]
