Underclocking Issue - 5970 and catalyst drivers w/ 2 monitors

Forum Overclocking : Graphics Cards Underclocking Issue - 5970 and catalyst drivers w/ 2 monitors

I recently purchased a 5970 from some black friday deals and I've been having a couple of issues with all of the recent catalyst drivers(i've tried quite a few). Just installed 12.1 beta drivers, but still no fix.

The first problem is the drivers will underclock your video card depending on what applications you are currently using, which would be nice if i could get it to work properly with TWO monitors. When nothing is open the video card will clock to 157/300 which causes artifacts on my desktop with two 1920x1080 monitors. I can't seem to find anyway to disable this feature, or change my 2d application clocks.

I have my 2nd monitor now plugged into my motherboard, which fixes problem #1 for now, but i'd really like to plug it back into my video card instead of having it on my i5. Now what's happening is if i have a 3d application open on my Main monitor my video card with clock to 725/1000(stock speed). Okay, but if i were to open a youtube video or stream on my 2nd monitor WHILE having a 3d application open on my main monitor, my video card clocks to 400/900 drastically reducing my performance in my 3d application.

use ati tray tool, set gpu voltage at 1.2v to get rid of artifacts

using ati tray tool create a profile that will use same clock (stock) all the time.

I just installed and tried using ati tray tool, and set my clocks to default and voltage, but i am unable to open any 3d programs, or flash.

It is however forcing my clocks always, i tried using msi afterburner before.

Okay, it works if i close the program completely after setting clocks, thank you very much.

seems like a error in beta version of driver

ok recheck these thing
in overclocking settings set your clock to 725/1000 and voltage at 1.2v (stock voltage) and save this profile as high.
and then in auto overclocking ,enable 2d/3d overclocking and use high profile for 3d and 2d mode
and then scan for artifacts and then use any 3d game/application.
