I wasn't sure which forum to post this in, but it seemed like more of a video card question.

I built a budget pc for gaming last November. I used a Core 2 XPentium E5200 2.5 Ghz, an ATI 4850 512MB, 4GB of memory, and Vista Home Premium. I've been running a 19" widescreen @ 1440X900 and a 17" 4:3 @ 1280X1024 (everyone laugh at me now :). I'm looking at getting 24+" monitor to replace both of mine. Acutally, I'm looking at buying the 28" HannsG on Newegg.

So, to the questions. Will my 4850 card be able to play games on medium to medium high settings at 1900X1220 resolution? I'm not looking to crank AA up and have the best possible graphics, but I don't want to have to run every game on low settings just to get decent framerates. I'm mainly playing Wow and TF2 right now, but will probably buy the new Modern Warfare and Left for Dead when they come out.

Thanks!!!!

Thanks for the reply shadow187! Does anyone else have thoughts on whether my 4850/512Gb can handle the 1920x1200 monitor?

Thanks!

I agree with Shadow. Those games will probably run on your new monitor at playable FPS. Although you might have to play with ingame settings to even things out. Also agree with Shadow on maybe looking into picking up a 4890 in the near future, That will deffin help you out. From what i understand (correct me if i'm wrong) the higher res the more it eats at your video cards memory.

I think that you are at the border of the 512MB limit.
With the 1G version of the mentioned cards, 4890 or 5770 or 5850 (if it is in your price range), you will have more head room for either higher frames or more AA with playable frames.
