I was just recently given a Gateway 2000 PH-75 made in 1992. When I try to start up it says invalid system disk and instructs me to replace disk and hit any key, but I don't have the disk. Is there anything I can do to wipe out the computers memory to install Windows 7?

Are you serious or Joking? A computer made in 1992 would likely be able to run Windows 3.X (graphical user interface shell/DOS (command line operating system).
If it's a Intel Pentium 75 Mhz based system it's probably from the year 1995 or so capable of running Windows 3.X/DOS or Windows 95 (should run Windows 95 nicely with 16 to 32 mb RAM).It could run Windows 98 with more RAM or NT likewise.A Pentium 75 Mhz system is below the requirements of Windows 2000 Professional (which still has updates till July 2010).

Windows 7 no possibility at all.Not even XP either.

A Pentium 75 Mhz system has use to run old legacy games of that era (Quake,Doom,Doom II,Duke Nukem 3D,Blood etc).
One can run a DOS based Internet browser on it with limited functionality and it loads some pages up slowly ( a novelty).

With a lot of RAM perhaps Puppy Linux

or DSL Linux
