QUESTION:

I am currently debating on whether or not to buy the 5850. I am wondering if it would be much of a performance increase in games like Crysis on my 1440x900 monitor. If not, what would be a better way to spend the money on upgrades? Would my CPU be a bottleneck to the 5850?

This is my current setup:

MOBO:
Biostar TA790GXB A2+

CPU:
AMD Phenom II x3 710 (OC 3.2 GHz)

Graphics Card:
ATi Radeon HD 4850

PSU:
Antec 650W

Case:
Antec 900 Mid-Tower

Monitor:
Dell 19" Widescreen 1440x900

Its hard to say because nobody is benching games on 1440x900. They probably should be though.

What I do know is, my 5850 totally knocks out my 4770 crossfire in Crysis. Your cpu isnt slow, but of course you wont be getting the best results with it either. You will see a good increase in fps over your 4850 at least, I dunno if its enough to justify the cash however.
