I purchased this heatsink the other day and received it today. I tried installing it on my Dell XPS 400 with a pentium D proccessor (duo core). The cable for the heatsink wouldn't even fit into the motherboard. It's a 4 pin and so is the motherboard but it's too bulky (But those seems to be normal now since my computer is about 4-5 years old). I was going to try and find some cable adapters but i realized not even the docking system or whatever that holds the heatsink in place and connects it to the motherboard is a decent size. I've given up on my new heatsink and i just decided to put new thermal compound on my old processor and keep running off of it. I'm hoping someone here would know a universal (or just one that'd fit my mobo) heatsink that i could use. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks :)

I believe it's a 775 but I'm not entirely sure. The original socket is more thin and wider, I can provide pictures if needed
