In the review of the 5770 and 5750 Chris mentions

"The path has to be implemented in such a way that the high-definition soundtrack doesn’t become accessible to a malicious user who’d happily intercept the DRM-free audio. ATI and CyberLink worked closely together to enable this functionality right as the Radeon HD 5870 was launching in a beta build of PowerDVD 9."

Does this mean that you can only get TrueHD/DTS-HD with PowerDVD 9 and a 5xxx card? I use W7 windows Media Center and I play all my moves/tv through that.

Don't know for sure; As far as I know, the 5000 series can only stream uncompressed PCM (up to 8 channels). That might have been changed though...
