XP laptop won't join a NT domain

Had to take my laptop off the domain temporarily, and now I can't rejoin!
Just reinstalled XP on 2 desktop computers and had no issues joining the domain.
If I try to just join a domain thru the Computer Name tab it says the domain controller can't be found. If I try to go thru the wizard it says there isn't an account for my computer on the domain - which there is AND it should add it if it isn't!
Any suggestions?

delete your computer from the domain.

You mean take it off the server right? Ok, I'll try that but I already changed the name and that didn't help...I think I did anyway
