Different vcd ver 1 & ver 2

would you able to tell me what are the differences between vcd ver 1 and 2nd version? and what software to use in vcd ver 1?

All I know is that, for both formats, you need software to properly encode the VCD, and you need to convert the source video in MPEG1 format.
