[RESOLVED] Windows XP slow boot, different case....

I am working on a Dell Dimension E310.

The machine boots up into Windows XP SP3 EXTREMELY slowly. Once Windows gets past the user screen, everything is fine.

This is not a problem with viruses, this is a FRESH install.

This occurs even when in SAFE MODE! Typically it'll sit at a BLACK SCREEN for 5-10 minutes before loading the blue Windows XP screen with "Windows is starting up..." and this takes forever as well.

Any clue how to debug this?

UPDATE: Just did a Windows XP repair. Still EXTREMELY slow, until the OS is loaded, then everything runs fine!

Ended up saying "F*** WinXP" and rolled to Win7. Everything fixed itself and I do have enough RAM to just barely run Win7.
