My question is with D0 (that is what I want, isn't it?). I've heard it's a chance which you will get from Newegg. Is that still deal, or can you request it specifically? If not, where should I get it from?

I would get a bigger PSU especially if you are considering tri-fire.

This HD for your OS

This one for your backups.

If you want just one HD get the WD Black 1 TB that you mentioned.

Get this memory kit. There are 2 different versions of the same thing. I am not sure what thats about. If you don't like them your choice is good too.

Have you looked into the MX-3 thermal compound?

Reply to Ragsters

Thanks for the info. I'll look into the MX-3 compound. Any other suggestions before I order?

Go with the full case, you will want the extra air flow with CF eventually. If you go with the mid tower, I would seriously look into a modular PSU. The investment is well worth it if you are trying to save on space and get good air flow.

Other than that, goodluck and nice build!

go with the dark knight or the scythe mugen 2 for those price ranges cause i heard bad things about V8 ...

The thing about D0 stepping...

basically D0 stepping processors run cooler and overclock better? i think ... but you shouldn't worry because most i7's sold nowadays are D0

And go with ragster's recommendations on the hard drives, 640gb black will be better and the samsung F3 is also better ... if that makes sense lol.

Other than that... looks good. Gonna be a beastly system with a 5870 w/ a 920 :P

good luck

HAF 922 Dimensions: 22.2x10x19.7
HAF 932 Dimensions: 22.7x9x21.5

Depends on if you want wider or deeper. For huge CPU coolers the 922 may be better. If you are going to load up all the bays with drives, you may need the 932s depth for those long GPUs.

I had planned on getting a TB HD, then partitioning off part for the OS only. Am I better off doing 2 HD's, and just using one for the OS? Seems like I would have a lot of wasted space if I used one just for the OS.

One other thing, how do you know it's D0 stepping? Does it say on the box or something?
