hi there i have aquired an ati 1800xl to see if my old card is knackered

but this card x1800xl says i need an extra power supply to the card from the psu

cant see any connections for this

so as my system is a bit newer do i need one

my comp specs are

winpower psu 450w
asus p5vd2-mx.se motherboard
intel pentium D 3.2
2 gig ram

please help

check this out says 277 watt

still not sure whether or not i need the additional cable

You'll be fine.

The box requirement is always worst-case scenario. The PSU calc is normally right on the money. Give or take say 50W to be safe.

You can always get adapter cables etc. much cheaper than a new PSU.

But if you ever do need a new PSU, I highly recommend Antec Earthwatts line of PSUs.
