Hi everyone,
I've got an older emachines t4010 which has served me well. It has an 8in1 card reader. Unfortunately it won't read SDHC cards. Can I replace this reader with an emachines 15in1 reader and replace the driver? I'd like to replace the existing hardware and not use an after market multi reader. My desktop is cluttered enough without another piece of equipment. I sent an email to emachines customer support and asked this question. They said they'll answer my question if I pay them $59. as my machine is out of warranty. Obviously they're more interested in money than customer relations. Thanks for any help.

Check newegg for a rosewill card reader. They had one for $7.99 with free shipping the other day. Remove the old card reader first and check the enclosure for sizing.
