Ok after asking people, reading forums, watching videos and overall attempting to teach myself how to overclock, i have finally got something decent running stable lol

Now i just want to ask some of you on here with more knowledge on overclocking if my temps/voltage and so on looks ok or am i at any risk.

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T stock at 2.8Ghz in a Asus Crosshair IV formula MB OC'ed to 3.9Ghz(i just can't get it to boot at 4Ghz it's killing me!)

Runs stable through prime 95, here is a screenshot of my numbers, any help is appreciated! Thanks all Happy New Year!!

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

Voltage and temps looks good, but we need see your load temps in the stress test and not on idle.

Almost 4GHz on a 1055T is very good, but the real challenge is get it stable for 24/7 use, how long did you tested?

I am new to OCing also
what helped me get my OC stable
was relaxing the timings on my ram
I am not sure what ram you have
but possibly slowing it down a little
either drop to next lowest speed (1600-1333 or 1333-1066)
or dropping your timings (ie 8-8-8-20 9-9-9-24)
can really help
plus raising the ram voltage just a little
I went from 1.5 stock to 1.55v and it really helped
again I am not an expert at OCing
but it helped me out

also run blend test on P95 for about 6 hours at normal room temp
to make sure it is stable
one hour is good to try out a OC
but not enough to make sure it is stable
also if your temp is going to high then even if it is stable
it is no good
with most newer AMD CPUS
you really dont want to go much higher than 55c on max temp
55-60 is pushing it
and over 60c is too hot

Well i couldn't get it stable at the 3.9Ghz..tryed some things but just not good at OC'ing just yet. Dropped it down to 3.7Ghz and got it stable ran prime 95 for 10hrs. So im happy with the 3.7 for my first OC.

Idle temp according to coretemp is 20-22C which im sure is probably 8-10 degrees higher

Load temp 38-40C again probably a little higher

So everything seems stable and temps seem just fine.

Thanks everyone.
