I need to buy a good video card that will allow me to do HD Video editing. I have a PC, 2.8 Ghz, 8Go RAM and I'm using Sony Video Studio (it does HD editing but my regular Video card is so slow...).

Any suggestions?

How much are you willing to pay for a video card? There are a wide variety of cards that can do this so if you can me a ballpark number ill try and figure out the best card for your range.

I'm also looking for a video card for 1080p HD editing. I'm looking to spend $150.

Are there even video cards anymore, or is it all about games? If so, what graphics card is the best for HD video editing?

I do video editing too, and from my experience and from what I've read, the GPU plays a letter role than does the CPU. If you are using an old Pentium 4, you're going to want to upgrade. Everything in the video/3D profession is shifting toward 64 bit computing. Try getting an Intel core 2 duo or i7 processor and coupling it with a moderate GPU if you are on a strict budget. Try the nvidea quadro series.
