or should i just give up on asus and go with evga?

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

For the two first links, I wolud go for the 1st kit, 6GB (enough RAM for now, IMO you don't need 12GB), the CL is in the limit, but is good. Now, be sure that is 1.65V or less.

The XMS3 look like a 1333 RAM, but be sure that is CL8 or less and 1.65V or less.

I have p6x58d with corsair 12GB of 1600MHz dram . Using corsair part #: CMD12GX3M6A1600C8 *

Am stable overclocked at 4.3GHz and the ram is running at 1638MHz.

This is a great MoBo. Get a good cooler (I have Zalman 9900LED) and 4GHz+ should be straightforward.
