Just look around the forums, people are asking for the same things you are. Read my sig, should give you a good start.

Order of importance for thinking about building a gaming system:
1. Video Card (what's your monitor resolution, what games are you playing, what games will you be playing?)
2. Motherboard (depending on your video card set-up that you need. Do you need SLI or Crossfire, or do you want SLI or Crossfire?)
3. CPU (dual cores is all that you need. three cores is better. four cores is overkill)
4. Memory (DDR2 Dual Channel should suit your needs. No more than 3GB for a 32-bit Operating System. 4GB is fine even for a 64-bit operating system. DDR3 has a slight edge over DDR2, but not noticeable. The speed of your memory will help overclocking your FSB or BCLK, and the timings will provide performance benefits)
5. Power Supply (mostly dependent on the video card you choose).
