No not at all. Toms site did a article under the motherboard section on the 785/710 chipset
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-785g-chipset,2381.html

and then did a roundup of 7 boards including the gigabyte board you mentioned
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-785g-motherboard,2441.html

I'm not a AMD guy, maybe someone else will chime in, but these perform good with the top processors as far as I've read.

I looked up the boards, Newegg has the Gigabyte board and it uses ddr3.
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128395
customer reviews sound positive.
Fudzilla mentions the board when released
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/14942/37/
This board USES DDR2.
This was good when ddr2 was cheap, and the "new" ddr3 was more expensive.
Now they are priced the same, don't know the price situation where you live.
The ddr3 you will most likely be able to use in the future.

I like Gigabyte to begin with , plus it uses ddr3.
