I'd suggest running prime95 and memtest86+ 4 (bootable from CD or Pen Drive) to see whether your current CPU and ram settings are stable or if your ram is bad.

Providing the most details about your system will help us to help you more efficiently.
1. When your machine locks or freezes up do you get a BSOD? (What exactly happens)
2. Screen shots of CPU-Z (Is your CPU and/or DRAM OC'd?)
3. NVIDIA Driver's
4. PSU Spec Label Details
5. Have you ran Driver Sweeper to clean all previous drivers?
6. There's a technique in building a new system called breadboarding. This can help you troubleshoot your system at the component level. Here's a link. I've used a modified version of breadboarding on my system and it is very solid technique.

I have the same board as well, but with no problems. *knock on wood*

can you get the temps of the cpu/gpu/ and bridge? I would only imagine it being a fail safe so something wont overheat, so it locks up and shuts everything down in order to keep it from burning up.
