I recently purchased a Acer desk top computer with windows 7 home edition installed. IHow do I open outlook express for my e mails

Did you install it? Windows 7 doesn't come with any email software by default. You have to get your own and there are plenty that are free.

Windows 7 won't run OUtlook. It's not supported anymore.
I recommend DreamMail. It's as good if not better than Outlook and has much the same feel as Outlook. That's what I'm using and it's a fine program to use.
Typical Microsoft. They get something good, and then they get rid of it. Just like Windows XP Pro.....the best O.S. ever.

There is a difference between Outlook, and Outlook Express. Outlook IS still supported, and will run just fine on windows 7.
