i5-750. Next question!

Here's some benchmarks...

http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,691811/Lynnfield-tes...

In that first one that i5-750 with turbo mode disabled destroys a Q9650... lord help the Q9550 when it goes up with an i5-750 with turbo mode enabled. The two chips have different architectures... yes, the 9550 has higher clock speeds and more cache, but that's not enough to overcome the new architecture's advances.

i5 750 hands down, and not because of the performance gap, but because LGA 775 has it's day counted....

i5-750 for sure. And if you wish to Overclock, they seem to OC very well, and very easily.

hehe, well I was assuming that the OP had to choose between both sockets... If the OP already has the Q9950 then no it would not be such an awesome upgrade...
